Kain rode up aboard the fighting chocobo he'd been working with all along, so far with surprisingly useful results. It had worked well in training and the past battle at least. So he was fully determined that it would now, as he neared the area others were gathered at. He knew others should have been there ahead of him, after all... but he wasn't going to let anyone see him as a burden. He was a Dragoon, and a man of Baron, and today he would prove just what that meant.

Even now he was stubbornly prideful to a fault. He couldn't wait to destroy the Lucavi, after all that they'd done to him and others he cared for. There could be no better penance than this.

Of course, Rydia wasn't about to let Kain go off alone. Prideful or not, he still had a significant disadvantage in battle. The exchange for not trying to keep him away from it was that he wouldn't hide his attempts to join in. Besides, she hadn't forgotten what those Lucavi did to him and Cecil. Revenge was in order, and she would be happy to deliver some payback.

She urged her own chocobo onward, keeping up with the dragoon easily enough. Her hand gripped one of her rods, ready to use it as soon as it seemed necessary. Trouble would find them soon enough, of that she was certain.

Noting the duo from his high position, Adrammelech took a moment to note their position before vanishing from the hovering station he'd taken after leaving Raines and Shemhazi.

Appearing behind them still in his actual form, Adrammelech decided to continue in his caution learned from the last inhuman mage faced in that church, casting Aphony upon the woman as she looked more the magic user than her companion. Turning his attention to the man on the chocobo, he began to draw in his limbs against himself, lighting flickered about his form as he drew in power in preparation to cast Thundaja on the pair.

During the ritual, Famfrit's gaze shifted away from Mjrn's slumbering form and towards the stars above. The luminous light that emitted from the Stone of Virgo shot towards the heavens above with such splendor. He was doing his best to channel all of its might, trying desperately to awake the girl as the Blood Seraph.

However, in the middle of this sacred ritual, a murderous aura interrupted his thoughts. He could feel them converging upon now; he could feel the hatred that these heroes possessed. It was simply divine to feel such murderous desires within these mortals.

"Is it bloodshed they seek...?" The creature chortled in mild delight. “Such hatred, it can be used to fuel our cause.” Kneeling down briefly to caress Mjrn's lips with his claw-like fingers, Famfrit vanished only to reappear once more before this band of heroes after Adrammelech went on the offense ( ... )

Ceodore was hot on the heels of his friends and wasted no time in layering protective magics on them as they close in to the Lucavi to for battle. Haste, Blink, Shell, Protect. He tossed them on everyone he could, then recklessly dove in to get in the first strike.

The signs of Dark being prepared for casting were easy enough to recognize and made him the easier target for him to go after. Armed with a Holy aligned sword, he ran in and stabbed directly at the side of Famfrit, heedless of the danger proximity posed.

Following Ceodore's hasty lead, the bard appeared with his lyre at hand. If these demons thought they could overwhelm them with a magical onslaught, then they have another thing coming. Edward may not be a dragoon knight or a swordsman, but the bard knew how to weave his magic into his music. Doing just that, the bard boosted his allies defenses with a quiet hymn.

He delicately plucked the strings of his harp as a turquoise aura danced around them. Edward was purposely a little further away from the group out of a strategic need. There was no way he could handle fighting the Lucavi up close, so Edward had to stay back and weave his magic from afar.

Kain wished terribly that he could jump and miss the range of the incoming spells... but then again being on the ground meant he got the positive boosts as well, the Shell absorbing the worst of the magic as it shot straight toward him. His chocobo moved about skittishly but he corrected its motions easily enough with a vocal command, urging it onward toward the enemy. His spear was poised to strike at Famfrit as he charged hastily toward him. He slashed with it toward his target, maneuvering the bird in a reckless, wild motion.

Aphony...did not affect Rydia in the least. Thanks to her Rune Armlet, she was well-protected against Silence-inducing attacks. She was, however, not as well-protected against the other spells. The summoner barely had a chance to reach for her rod, when the lightning struck. While it wasn't as bad as it could have been, the difference mattered little to Rydia for the moment, as lightning coursed through her body. She cried out, slumping to her knees.

Barely had she thought about grabbing a Hi-Potion than Darkga struck as well. The summoner swayed as the negative energy engulfed her, consciousness hanging by a thread. She grimaced defiantly and used the rod in her hands, knowing that Kain would need the healing that followed. Ceodore's and Edward's efforts likewise boosted her enough to continue.

"Cover me!" She needed to concentrate and time to summon Bahamut.

A whirlwind of magicks fluttered forth towards Ceodore once he came near, but the youth's blade was too fast for Famfrit to avoid. The holy blade singed his armor, causing black smoke to rise from the slash. A pained growl soon followed as Famfrit reached to smack Ceodore with his massive fists. Three times the size of an average hume, the Darkening Cloud towered over his enemies like an statue. Despite his imposing size, it was now Kain who hurried forth to strike him.

Drawing back his massive ewer, Famfrit tossed the bronze jug right towards Kain's head. He wanted to destroy the courageous fool before his friends, to crush his bones into dust as they watched. The Lucavi and his brethren would not forgive his betrayal. Quickly darting away once his ewer narrowly missed the dragoon and his mount, Famfrit to terrorize the heroes with a magnificent tsunami.

"Drown in deep despair!" He roared once a typhoon splashed down from his enormous ewer. The lands below were flooded with blue-black water, waters tainted by the malice that ( ... )

Adrammelech growled as the reinforcements arrived, the sound escaping like an ominous rumble of thunder before a bad storm was due to hit. Which in a sense it was, the rain was thoughtfully provided by Famfrit's typhoon and he added the most important element, the lighting to strike toward the witch, which was reminding him too much of that inhuman brat which had attacked him earlier.

Never had Ceodore been so glad for having a natural affinity for his mother's magic as he was on seeing those monstrous hands come bearing down on him. Both attempts at hitting him missed only from the protective cushion that Blink had provided. Barely. He was going to be forced to split the difference in this fight between attacking and healing. Rydia was already almost down and hanging on by a thread. She needed a full dose of Curaga but it took time to prepare.

Time that he did not have as he saw and heard what was coming next. With any hope the Thunder would be lessened by Shell, but there was little to be done about an incoming Tsunami. He dug his sword into the ground and held on for dear life, praying that it would be enough to keep him grounded until the flood dissipated. As the waters reached him, he lowered his head and finished the final incantation of the healing spell, knowing that all of them would desperately need it, if they survived that watery onslaught.

A terrified scream came from the bard as he gripped on to the nearest log to keep himself afloat. Edward has no idea how these fiends could use such magic so recklessly, but he hoped and prayed his friends were well. Clinging to the tree still once the waters subsided, a blast of lightning struck down from the heavens above.

Quickly ducking for cover, the bard literally vanished for a brief moment or two before appearing once more. Who would have ever guessed that hiding could be such a useful tactic. "Ceodore!" He cried out for his friends. "Kain, Rydia, are you well!?" Edward paused briefly to search within his pouch before tossing spare x-potions towards his comrades.

Kain cried out in annoyance as the flood bore down upon them. He knew how these foul creatures fought- he had been one of them once after all- so the attack itself came as no surprise. But that didn't make it any easier to face it, to be swept away by those terrible waters ( ... )

Rydia lost her chance to summon Bahamut, as the onslaught effectively disrupted her concentration. Instead, she had to fight for consciousness as water and then lightning descended upon her. She cried out, swept away by the force of the wave.

Afterward, she was barely clinging to life and barely within range of Ceodore's healing spell. Roused enough to concentrate again, Rydia focused on bringing forth Bahamut, knowing that this summoning could be her last. If it was, at least she did her part.

The Dragon King then emerged, the majestic Eidolon soaring upward. He growled at the fiends before him, then opened his maw. His greatest attack -Mega Flare- was then directed at his summoner's opponents.

Edge was extremely ticked off. Who did these Lucavi think they were. Somehow he managed to keep to footing as he waited out the flood. He could feel the anger within him growing as he saw all his friends, yes even the scoundrel Kain take a beating. It was with an intense pleasure that he pulled down his weapon and allowed his ninjitsu training to take over. He dared not blitz or flood with the current damage that had been done, instead relaying on flame which he aimed directly at the Lucavi.

The dragoon's skill with the spear hadn't dwindled at all despite his dismal state. Famfrit's armor was pierced by the strike, allowing more blackened smoke to billow forth. The force of the strike sent him flying, but Famfrit steadied himself in mid air. His haggard breaths were proof of Kain's might, but when Bahamut appeared, Famfrit's surprise hiss heralded his defeat.

"Curse you pretentious fools!" He howled in anger once Bahamut doused him in a mighty blaze. More black smoke flowed from the Lucavi's broken form as Edge’s flames danced around him, but the creature wasn’t done with them yet. Summoning his terrible magick, the Darkening Cloud summoned a horde of undead to take over this part of the battle. There were twenty or so of zombies that hailed from the darkest depths of the Necrohol approaching the stalwart heroes.

"Adrammelech!" Famfrit called the Wroth's name with such urgency. "We must flee!" Before the other could reply, the Darkening Cloud vanished in a splendorous hail of light.
