Characters: Shuyin and Lenne Progress: Ongoing Summary: They meet for the first time in 1000 years. Location: Wutai Date: September 5th, 1804 Warnings: Wibbles galore. And soooo much angst.
She hadn't been certain that it was him at first, but his voice, his mannerisms.. it was all the same. Lenne wasn't really the emotional type -- outbursts of crying weren't characteristic of her, but she couldn't help but feel her heart beat faster and faster at knowing that he was here, and he was alive.
And that there was still time.
It was the most important part, after all.
The owner of the inn in the center of Wutai had been kind enough to allow her to stay free of charge, being a Sky Person themself, and so Lenne had tucked herself into her room for the evening.
And then she heard it. The whistle was something he'd thought of, a signal for her to know that Shuyin was there for her during her concerts. Lenne rushed to the window and threw it open, leaning out to look at the town square, frantically searching for him.
"Lenne!!" He couldn't help the massive grin on his face and saw the framework of the building. In an instant, he was running towards the inn, latching onto it and pulling himself up.
He climbed the outside, still grinning and laughing, he was just so excited to see her. Scrambling through the window, almost falling flat on his face, Shuyin stood, dusting himself off and laughing more, looking at her with a huge smile.
Shuyin stared at her, his smile fading away for tears to come in his blue eyes. He sank to his knees, his arms wrapping tightly around her waist as he pressed his face against her bare stomach, trembling like a leaf. "Lenne," he breathed against her skin, shaking his head a little.
Startled, but laughing, Lenne skittered back out of Shuyin's way as he climbed in through the window. She bit her lower lip as he sank to his knees and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, stroking his hair.
"I promise, it really is me."
There was silence, a comfortable one, as she held on to him, almost waiting for him to dissolve into pyreflies. But when he didn't..
Her voice was there, so was her warmth, her body, her scent, everything that made Lenne perfect. He kissed her belly button, smirking a little as he stood, though as his blue eyes found her brown he felt the smirk fade into a soft smile.
"Lenne..." He couldn't help himself as he raised a hand, brushing her hair behind her ear and trailing fingers over the long beaded earrings, stopping over her heart, just before it got distasteful, even if his mind told him it was perfectly fine to sweep her off her feet and carry her to that bed across the room.
"A thousand years, Lenne... Are you tired?" He knew he was. Tired of wandering. Tired of being so angry.
But he shook his head. There was time for talk like that soon. Instead, he simply leaned down and kissed her sweetly on her lips.
