Aerith's eyes blinked open, staring at the ceiling as she lay amongst her sheets; she had lost count long ago of how often she'd opened her eyes that night. Her mind was on anything but sleep, racing as she tried to process all the information she'd managed to learn since arriving in Gaia. The whispers of Gaia were still strong in her mind, even as they waned within Luca. The overwhelming unhappiness and agony she'd heard when she walked to Zidane's ship outside Treno had been enough to shake her. It wasn't foreign, but the emotion behind it demanded an urgency she had no idea how to provide. The little amount she'd managed to converse with the planet through prayer hadn't offered many answers.
Then there was the fact she had been here before-- the faces and names of people she did not remember, but who felt familiar and treated her as such. The familiarity of some of the voices she'd heard in the Mist. Tifa informing her that people come back to life here. Learning from a reluctant Rude that she was on her way to dying before coming to Gaia-- it had been something she'd kept to herself. Tifa and Cloud's engagement. Zack was still here, and even with that foreboding feeling in the church that one day... he was alive, and just as dedicated to her as he'd been when he left for Nibelheim.
It hadn't been so hard to realize she had no control to leave; it was just so much at once that she tried not to let bother her during the day while she learned her way about Luca and acquainted herself with her flower shop and the people around her. Sighing, Aerith pulled herself into a seated position on the edge of the bed, feet touching the floor.
There was no way she was going to fall asleep at this rate. Lifting herself off the bed, Aerith padded barefoot to the door, opening and closing it silently as she entered the hallway. Maybe some tea or something to eat would help her sleep. She turned in the direction of the kitchen, stopping as if in thought outside another door. Her eyes landed on the handle, and after a moments hesitation, Aerith decided that at the moment what she needed was just that. She pulled the door open quietly, peeking her head inside.
Her voice came out as a whisper, trying to decide if waking him was the best idea. "Zack...?"
