Characters: Minwu, Kain Highwind.
Progress: Ongoing~
Summary: Backdated till after Tidus and Yuna's wedding. Set the evening before Minwu leaves Luca. He's considering things; and a wild dragoon appears. []
Location: Luca.
Warnings: FFIV / FFII spoilers most likely. Time paradox weirdness.

The white mage was seated upon a jetty outstretching from out over a large area of water -- thankfully (almost) abandoned due to its distance from the town centre and things most people found interesting. He took solace whenever he could in being alone as of late - and this was no exception. The noise was only very minimal here, so he quite simply spent his time enjoying the evening sun; (minimal) body armour, cape and keffiyah removed and serving as little more than materials to lounge upon, Minwu of course taking the time to do so as he watched the sun move slowly through the sky. Thanks to Firion's habit of commentating regularly on how gaunt his frame was - the mage had made an attempt at eating, but found more merit in holding it out for the birds. He'd remained still enough for one to actually land upon his hand to pick at what he held as he lay there and examined it.

Minwu had found Luca to not quite be his most ideal of surroundings. While there was no doubt in his mind that he could find contentment where ever Firion tended to be; there was still the matter of the people that inhabited Luca. Really, they weren't so bad as individuals - but the numbers were something extraordinary, imposing to the most absolute degree, repressing and almost frightening to him. The fact someone was always able to watch him made him unable to relax at any point.

He'd found little ways of coping, of course. Seeing Firion in surroundings that were different to the ones forced upon him in their world was something that made him smile. Firion was still a lad; and the war had taken far too much from him. Friends... family. Everything, really. Everything that could have been taken from a person had been. Though the city was strange, it was worthwhile to see him going back to some semblance of normality, and to be something to other people - not the faceless rebel most seen him as upon their world.
Firion deserved some normality, and it was refreshing to see the youth finally getting it.

But as for him, personally...
Minwu couldn't say that he deserved anything. A way back to their world had to be found. Firion's task of defeating the Emperor was incomplete; and if there was any reason he was here, it was to guide him back. And there was also the matter of captain Steiner. The trip to Luca had been unplanned; and hindered his promise to the captain to assist him with his problem - but it had not made his objective impossible. He was leaving; tomorrow.

....He just hadn't told Firion yet.
