After Tifa, Tidus and Lulu had fought Kefka and the silver dragons together, Tifa thought it would be nice to get to know her neighbours in a less dangerous context. She was already friends with Tidus thanks to Cloud and she'd spoken to Yuna several times too. Lulu she knew less about. They'd met before, months ago, but then Lulu had disappeared and Tifa was fairly sure that this Lulu didn't remember anything of that first visit to Gaia.
She did know that Lulu had a baby - she could hardly forget, having seen her fight despite carrying the child with her. Tifa wanted to see how Lulu was getting on, which was why she could be found knocking on the door of the Tidus-Yuna household. She'd called ahead to make sure that Lulu was expecting her.
