Pretty much Bright Eyes was one of the best things that have ever happened. Jessie and I hopped in the Volvo shortly after noon and after a quick pitstop at Starbucks for pumpkin spice, we were on our way. after probably a dozen washroom breaks we pulled into fargo and descended on the mall. found way too much stuff to buy and no money to buy it with. found the worst western shirts in existence. Then headed to TGI Fridays for some Nachos. by the end I was dwarfed by a huge boquet of helium balloons drifting overhead, held in place by their strings tied around my wrist. As well I was presented with a pretty legit sundae with all the fixins. Apres eats we headed over to barnes and noble to check out some sweet books on shipwrecks and architecture. Then it was showtime. Willy Mason opened and his bluesy southern songwriting had me nodding my head immediately. Dave Dondero followed and put on a similar act with the addition of drums and a bit more twang and humour. Conor is a babe. I'll tell you that right now. but not as much as his harp player. She was pretty much really cute. Harp is the hottest instrument a girl could ever play. that is for sure. The set started with an epic harp intro and which led into sunrise/sunset. He played a bunch of stuff off fevers and mirrors which made my day. I thought he was going to explode during 'the calendar hung itself' but he stayed intact. definetely in my top five of shows. I want a pedal steel pretty bad. Really good chats on the way home as well. nineteen and holding...
birthday party tonight. come one come all.
