I really admire Anderson Cooper. He's everywhere the action is. The shit is about to hit the fan in the Middle East, and he just packs and goes. The pair he and the rest like him have!
Working on a fic right now. It is really great to have a beta for a change. It is a very different process that makes the story, imo, much better. I have learned a lot from her also. The fact that she's an editor (she claims to be at the bottom of the chain, but she's really, really good) might be a key factor. She has given me a bunch of valuable feedback too. It is really fun to have her! :)
On the other hand, this gorram story had me tossing and turning all night. My mind kept trying to work out all the kinks--which I have to my satisfaction, but I'm just going to fall asleep in the middle of a depo today, I just know it... It's just fanfic, for godssake! I am getting way too wrapped up in this one. And I thought I wouldn't write for that fandom again. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! - that's what happens when you go and accept a challenge.
I should take a break and work on actual writing assignments, they're just not as fun. Not to mention the pile of paperwork waiting for me at the desk... *whimper* :(
ETA: Five years here and the sonic boom of the shuttle enter the atmosphere still startles me for a second.
