thirty and dirty, a highly refined pirate.

my birthday yesterday was awesome. we had a clinic-sponsored lunch, as is the norm for birthdays in the clinic, which was lovely. 3 bottles of delicious pumpkin ale from my preceptor, which will save me a trip to the LCBO for the weekend. lovely!

minus the bear last night was.....spectacular. i don't know how they're SO. GOOD. live. SO GOOD LIVE! hearing all the tracks from highly refined pirates was incredible, i've waited years to hear them do "women we haven't met yet" and "let's play guitar in a five guitar band" live, and they did both (obviously, as they are both off of highly refined pirates). and the song that i thought was called pantsuit uggghhhh is actually called just kickin' it like a wild donkey, but they did that one live too. AAAAAAAAANNNNNDDDD it was also a birthday of one of the dudes in the band, a guitarist named dave, who is totally mesmerizing to watch live. they (meaning the we, the crowd) sang happy birthday to him and i was ELATED to find out he is my birthday twin! so cool, you guys.

that was probably the best show i've ever seen them do. it was amazing. a good long set followed by a six song encore! six songs!!

not much else is going on. gonna hit up target today before heading back to the great white north for a weekend of fun with friends. first, i gotta get through some tutorial though.

all in all, i'm a pretty lucky 30 year old gal. :)
