Well there's a real winner....

I just got through reading Breaking Dawn overviews (because I'm too lazy to read it) but seriously, what the hell? XD What kind of acid trip was Ms.Meyers on?

I'm not going to give too much away, just what's already on her sight.

But really, "Nessie"? I am now imagining a vampire/human/ Loch Ness monster child and it's quite hilarious. If I had ( Read more... )

Aha, totally agree with you there about BD. XD I'm so glad that I never even liked it in the first place.

Do tell us about that ~one time at band camp~ XD

I didn't mind the first book too much. It wasn't my thing, but it wasn't the worst thing ever written. The next three books? Oh yeah, kill it with fire. :/ It's sad to think young girls think it's an ideal relationship.

Well this one time at band camp, two trumpet guys said they were going to the bathroom and didn't come back for an hour. :D And this one time, at band camp, an oboe player got her instrument stuck in the tuba. And this one time...*shot*. XD

Yeah, I didn't think the first book was OMGLITERARY!FAIL either, just really bad...

Wait, are those stories real? XD Because I've never had such interesting experiences at band camp.

Ditto. I mean, sparkly vampires, wtf? XD I like my vampires to be burnt like bacon in the sun thanks.

...I sort of wish the first one was real. XD I'd have my moment of pure lulz for at least a week. The second ones sort of true. We did lose something in a tuba (I think it was a bracelet) but an oboe sounds cooler. The person eventually got it out, and it flew across the room and smacked someone in the back of the head. XD

I finished Breaking Dawn and it was rather... scary.

Twilight was good enough. New Moon and Eclipse... not great but not bad either. But Breaking Dawn just butchered the entire series.

I can't even begin to explain how many problems I had with Breaking Dawn...

BTW: That "Nessie is a loch nest monster" joke was already made in the book. Her original name was Renesmee (combination of "Renee" and "Esme"--OMG HOW ORIGINAL) but Jacob described it as a "mouthful" and settled on calling her "Nessie". Bella wasn't too pleased with the nickname and that just entertained me.

I couldn't make myself read it after finding out some of the spoilers. XD I just settled on Wikipedia and Amazon. Dude, Jacob's part was beyond wrong.

I agree so much. Twilight, while it wasn't that great, was still alright enough to read. New Moon...just hit me in too many wrong places for me to like it. And Eclipse just ruined Jacob's characterization and was mostly mindless filler.

I could probably sum up it's problems in one sentence: Meyers took FFN way too seriously.

I actually didn't have that big of a problem with Jacob's part. It bothered me that he imprinted on Nessie before he had closure with his ended-relationship with Bella. It bothered me by the fact that he imprinted on Bella and Edward's daughter. But Jacob/Nessie was actually very sweet in a way, despite the fact that it was so messed up. Especially the part where he actually imprints on her. If I still wrote fanfiction, I'd write a Jacob/Nessie fic... with an older Nessie, that is...

I mean, there were still problems with his part. Like the fact that he played such a major role in the first half of the novel and basically shriveled up as an insignificant character near the end of the book. I mean, he was there, but once he imprinted on Nessie it was like all of his problems/struggles were gone... he wasn't really "Jacob" anymore.

New Moon and Eclipse didn't bother me too much but the ending (Breaking Dawn) ruined it. Breaking Dawn was just much too random and scattered. I had always imagined Bella becoming a vampire at the very end ( ... )

I didn't mind the age difference or anything like that. The only part that really bothered me was that it was Bella's daughter. It seemed like since Jacob couldn't have Bella, he settled for the next best thing. And like you said, that there was no closure or anything.

Eclipse I just thought was slightly fillerish so I wasn't too bothered by anything. New Moon...just disturbed me in a few ways. It's shown that it's okay to completely break down and not function without your love to the point of suicide? That there's nothing else to live for? It'd been more interesting if Meyer played up that part instead of leaving me freaked out that Bella's seen as normal.

That part was weird. What, Bella's so special that she has to go through nothing to get what she wants? My bullshit detector is rising off the charts.

I demand a rewrite of that and the last HP book. It wasn't a complete failure but it was still sort of a wtf-fest. D:

Just like pretty much everyone at times. Except Jacob, but everyone hates him. *hangs head* :(
