musically there's a lot of dynamics
i finished the crying of lot 49. devin took me off his friends list so probably no one's going to care, but i had sort of a love/hate relationship with it. it was very clever, in a rather intellectual way, and it was certainly well-written, but i felt that it was also outrageously pretentious and for the most part devoid of any emotion. i felt sort of benevlonetly insulted, like pynchon had told me, in the most polite way possible, that i and everyone else save him were about as smart as a nondescript lampshade. but i felt it worthwhile.
