I never thought you'd lose the light in your eyes

Why is it that certain topics make you "smart?" A guy at Polo asked me what books i read and i talked about philosophy and he asked if i was smart. It's dumb because i know a lot about sports, but if someone were to see me reading one of my basketball books, people don't see that as smart, just entertaining or low-level reading.
I spent the morning watching Amber swim, and it was an amazing experience. I was listening to Pink Floyd while watching all the swimmers, and i decided i LOVE all sports. Most of Floyd's stuff begins with soft, slow guitar, with other intruments coming in later, and it fit perfectly watching Amber glide across the water. Every sport is so perfect. The amount of mental toughness and thought that goes on is incredible. I miss it. It's sad how much i like it when Tony at work simply calls me "Lemmon" because of how coaches often refer to everyone by their last name. I miss the competition and the feeling of winning.
