Jack coughed and gasped as his head broke the surface of the water. He was shivering with cold as he struggled to stay above the water, even though the water he was in was warm ( Read more... )

((So, between going to Ohio, the LJ outage, my internets being out all day yesterday, and me being a general loser... Well, let me just apologize for the delay, yes?))

Rose was on her daily stroll through the mist. The walk she'd become used to started at the docked Titanic (still an oddity to her, but she was becoming more used to it every day. She'd even retrieved her luggage from the doomed ship, and took it back to her quarters in the apartment building.), continued along a beach that connected the dock to the strange Bad Wolf Bay, and then took her to Forty Foot. Then, she would cut through Central Park, and make her way back to the apartment today.

However, the peaceful tranquility of her walk was shattered, when she noticed the shape of a person on the beach. She thought she might be hallucenating - it was easy to do in the mist- but still she hurried forward, straining to make out details in the haze.

((That's perfectly alright. I understand delays bc of life being teh suck.))

Jack slowly drifted toward consciousness, flexing his fingers and toes as he tried to remember where he was. The last thing he remembered was treading water near the sunk Titanic, and knowing he wasn't going to last the night, but glad that Rose would have a chance to live. This was most definitely not the Atlantic Ocean, and as far as Jack knew, Rose was no where near here.

"Rose." Jack whispered as he pushed himself up on an elbow and took in the scenery around him.

She squinted to see through the fog, her heart pounding in her chest as she realized she wasn't hallucenating - There was really someone there. Her hurried steps broke into a run, though it was hard to move in the sand - she kept stumbling.Because of that distraction, she didn't realize - until she was right up next to him - that it was her beloved Jack she was running to.

She sank to her knees next to to him, beginning to cry. "Jack!"

((Christ almighty I had a chorus of characters in my head saying his name when I typed that - too many damn Jacks.))

Jack froze, he had not been expecting a reply. He swiftly turned over, staring up at the beloved face of his Rose. How she had arrived here, he didn't know, nor did her care. He only knew that she was here. He reached up with both hands, cupping her face.

"Rose, is it really you?"

((Dude, I don't even play Rose and I could hear her in my head.))
