I really hope it works this time, Hermione thought as the portkey activated, carrying herself, Tara, and Dawn away.
Theoretically, it was supposed to take them to London, since "anywhere but here" just didn't satisfy the portkey as a location, but she wasn't sure if she had made it strong enough to get that far. It was hard to precisely determine when you hadn't a clue where exactly *here* was.
The familiar jerking sensation behind her naval was at least familiar and comforting in that it assured her the portkey was doing something. That was better than some of her attempts.
After she spell ended, depositing her on the ground with a jolt, Hermione opened her eyes and looked around.
Oh bugger. Despite the foggy mist covering everything, this was most definitely not London.
