Jen had decided to take a shot at fixing up her ship, or at least doing a more thorough assessment of the damage on it; she wasn't really thrilled with the idea of leaving it out on the beach. Quite possibly because the last time she'd landed a time ship on a beach, it had exploded. Never mind that she had no plans of going back to the year 3000; she didn't particularly want that to happen to this ship.
The distressing thing wasn't that she was discovering the problems were definitely more complex than she could fix on her own; it was that, as she poked around in the cockpit with her computer in diagnostic mode and the ship's manual at hand, she found herself singing.
Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles confusion is nothing new
You say go slow; I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you; I'll be waiting
Time after time . . .
She paused and banged her forehead lightly into the bottom of the navigation console, in the vain hopes that it would stop.
Sometimes you picture me I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me I can't hear just what you've said . . .
". . . GAH!"
[OOC: I know, I know. SO CLICHE. But I couldn't help it, because despite the clichéness of it, I kind of really do love the
Wes/Jen fanvid that was done to the song, okay? *cuddles canon 'ship* IT'S MY SHIP SONG. HUSH. < /pun> I have no willpower.
Mostly establishy, but open if you for some bizarre reason should happen to wander down to this bit of beach . . .
ETA: I'd like to thank
bridge_carson for the post tag for today's weirdness!]
