I'm just going to directly copy+paste a comment I made elsewhere earlier:
I watched "The Day of The Doctor". I liked a lot of bits. Especially the interaction (and loved Ten calling Eleven out). Bad Wolf is one of my favourite "Doctor Who" things so I *squeed*. But in general I'm not happy as I should be. Damn arrogance with things. Messing-up with my favourite Doctor's story & growth. Felt a bit like Moffat was trying to be mean to RTD. Like Nine's learning to be more 'human' again plot after being in a war and doing something horrid (the being in great pain but slowly letting people in close again & having genuine moments of silliness!). The Gallifrey* is frozen thing I thought was already done by RTD, but it was like Moffat was going "It was all my idea! This is a new thing! Aren't I clever?!". I AM DISGRUNTLED by not letting more past actors/actresses be in it. Like they could even have had them record new voice clips instead of reusing the old ones. "The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot" did a good job of showing just how ridiculous things are, when most would love to be in something again (I bawled with happiness over that special, by the way!). I think things would have been even better if Eccleston had been involved and played the part it seemed like Moffat added to try to replace him with. I was hoping that the Hurt Doctor would be a vessel of Morbius's ruthlessness/the Sisterhood's Sacred Flame, somehow using Eight's regenerating corpse to help him end the war (An Innocent. A Sacrifice. A Knight. A Fall. The end of a war.). Nine wouldn't have taken any of Eleven & Ten's bickering either. Again, I loved the interactions though, and it reminded me of "The Three Doctors" (which I also watched today!)I have problems with things which have become common in New!New!Who, but I won't get into it. I was glad to see Kate back and still the strong character she's been portrayed as. I fucking loved her coat too. And I was a bit horrified when her Zygon replacement melted her appearance! Lastly I'm really excited for Capaldi!
EDIT--- I also recommend watching "The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot" if you need a cheer-up. I don't think it's region-locked on iPlayer, since I watched it earlier from Canada just fine.
