this is just about precisely what I think Eleven's secret feelings must be during seasons five and six. I know he cares about River.... and I also know that many many years have passed for him.... but I can't help thinking that River's life, lived backward, can't help but make the Doctor ache for a life lived in synch, the way he and Rose were so very much in synch.
