Oh this was so bittersweet. I sense that some of the guilt Rose is feeling is beginning to get to her, especially as time goes by and the watch still has not turned up.

Look forward to the next update.

Oh, this continues to be gorgeous. I love the bittersweet nature of this chapter, the memory of what happened to Jack - Jack! Nooooo! - and the constant hints from John about remembering his hearts:

...the sincerity behind her eyes makes his hearts tighten. Heart. Makes his heart tighten.

And Alistair! You mentioned Alistair! *flails a lot*

I can't wait for the next installment - and I'm terribly curious about how/when/if the fobwatch's going to turn up.

Oh, wow. He's not just having flashbacks in his sleep any more, he's sharing his dreams with Rose.

And Jack! Waaah! I'm still hoping for the best where he's concerned. He doesn't have to be dead, right?

(Rain 'cheque' - that's not a British expression, so I have no idea if the 'check' refers to money or checking records. If it's the latter, then 'check', not 'cheque', though I'd recommend spelling it 'check' regardless. You'd get away with Rose using it as it's become familiar through US TV and films).

Wendy, a rain check is actually a filled out coupon you are given at a grocery store when it runs out of a sale item, so that you can buy it on a different day at sale price after the sale is over and when the store has it in stock again. It doesn't refer to money or checking records. Like an I.O.U. from the store to the customer.

Sorry, I didn't mean to give the impression I didn't know what a rain check is! I've made use of them several times since coming to Canada, and I'm a big fan ;) What I meant was that I didn't know the etymology - ie whether the 'check' meant what we would spell 'cheque' (as Rallalon spelt it in this chapter) or whether it referred to a different meaning of the word, in which case I'd recommend spelling it 'check'.

Oh, no, Jack! What a terrible thing. I can't even imagine how much Rose must be hurting, or how much the Doctor hurts under the surface of John Smith.

I'm always so excited to see another chapter of this. It's still so amazing, the way you're building John and Rose's relationship while a threat boils slowly under the surface. And all the UST is going to make a hole in the universe pretty soon. You're so talented, I can't stand it.
