He knew what the words were going to be, he knew, and his breath caught in his throat as he waited to hear them. She pressed her lips together and all of time pressed upon him, driving the air from his lungs. The sudden weight was unbearable, pushing against his eyeballs, making his ears pop.
“Bad Wolf.”
Time stuttered between one word and the next. He swallowed down sudden nausea, his body’s violent reaction as reality flickered like a candle in a sudden gust, flickered, guttered and flared up bright again.
“I create myself ... I take the words ... I scatter them in time and space …”
