So as it has come to the end of the year, or close to, so I figured that for my own interest I would evaluate the year past and some of the highs and lows. My memory is really bad for this kind of stuff so thanks to LJs and facebook I can figure what actually happened all those months ago. I am thinking of taking a month by month approach and we'll see where it goes from there
January: Um, Timberlea reunion was actually a good time and I really enjoyed the fact that we were actually able to maintain contact. Also going to Cabo San Lucas for the New Years week was great to see my Aunt and grandparents and I also met some awesome good times people on the plane in a completely random incident
February: So this month was all drama. Mostly I broke up with Darrell. Myles...that boy to this day. And then Randy. I went to Airdrie with Randy and I learned how to shoot rifles and that was fun and also cross-country skiing. All around a good weekend but I really ended up more confused. And then my birthday which is always fun and a good time. Mostly soo much cake. Sewing with Mrs. Shimmons for the last time.
March: Um pretty quiet month. I started dating Matt. The classes I had were coming to a head about now and I was getting ready for Econ 101 to destroy me.
April: Finals. Virginia Tech drama. Trying to get work that is not at suncor and prepping for Sasquatch. End of being roommates with Adrean. Going to Silversun Pickups/Ok Go/Snow Patrol and missing Myles but enjoying the concert.
May: Going to Sasquatch with Robbie. Which at same the time was fun and antagonizing. It was so awesome to meet Richard. But also I think I'm super anal when I travel. However, despite my original analysis, I wouldn't change it and I would totally go again with the same people. In fact I really want to go again this year. We'll see if it works out. I also started working for Casman May 1, and though at first it was really frustrating because I couldn't do anything it only got better.
June:So by this point I'm working at Casman more and now I get to do more things like order lunches and I work at different places. Playing with Sarah constantly
July: Stampede with the ladies as per usual and its generally good times with good food at Big Fish and getting to see Richard again.
August: Going to Invermere for the long weekend and getting ready to go back to school. Also super awesome house sitting and fun parties. I really enjoyed this summer where I got to spend so much time with friends and hanging out and travelling so much. I started to really like driving in the summer on a highway with good music. This was probably one of my most favourite summers.
September: Back to school in the final year of this grade. Broken up with by Matt while he called me (long distance) in front of a casino and interrupted by a hobo. Not the most classy and I was trying to break up with him. Oh well. I really liked my classes and was having a fun time. I also started working for the Gateway and it was fabulous. Paul is an amazing editor. Also Orientation was amazing and my partner Derek was the best!!
October: Randy is the new boy on the scene (so I measure time according to the boy--sad but the reality of my life, it makes things easier anyways). But it only lasts a short while but it is alot of fun. Midterms and all that fun stuff. Preference where I get asked by Mariachis (sp?)and act out plays about my own life. So much fun. Mostly a good month with a trip to the Ivory Club and some new friends.
November: Single life, more exams. November is never a great month as far as moral but it wasn't too bad. Mostly every day seemed the same. I also started seeing my psychologist which is good times. Really helped out with the anxiety. And I also applied for Business school so that I can have some sort of a future. Also I went to the Roost for the first time with some friends and it was a great time. So random too. Also bar none--every year is a good year when I get to see people but seeing Darrell was awkward and nothing special. Though it was good to see Don again. Also boys are complicated. Which may have lead to me kissing a guy randomly whose name may or may not be Jared
December: Final exams which meant the most studying that I have ever done in my life. Dave visits and gets a job working for CISN in Edmonton which results in alot of thinking through things. Mostly the year seems to be ending off on a good note. The marks are good which means that the future is more certain and boys have become less complicated. Well maybe not less complicated but at least less confusing. The time with the family is going well too so far, although as usual it is pretty hectic.
Also best music find of the year: The Small Sins- Mood swings, although I have to say that this year for music was a particularly good one; what with Sasquatch and listening to iTunes Radio all the time at work and having XM radio in my dad's new car. I also probably bought the most cds ever this year. Also I think I love Radiohead now. Me and 2 million or more other people who bought In Rainbows. But Small Sins takes the cake.
Best movie: probably of my favourite this year was Hot Fuzz
and yeah I really don't know what else to sum up in this. Life is pretty good and I think this year is really a transition year to next year which will likely hold the most changes..graduating, going to France, starting a new program and doing things on my own even moreso than before.
I have looked back on my past entries and it's interesting all the things that have happened since 2004 (or so) when this lj was first started.
Man life. I can't wait to get back to Fort McMurray to celebrate New Years. Every year that people don't come back it hits harder that things are changing but I will certainly hold on to that little taste of highschool as long as I can. Even if just for nostalga
p.s I really hate proofreading
