So my router has the downs and a head injury!
Basically it is working only intermittently for 2 days now and I have no idea why (I already checked my cable connection).
Does anyone have any ideas and or suggestions??
I am trying to avoid violence on my part

What type of router is it?
Do you have any firewalls running? norton internet tools/mcafee firewall?
is it affecting all computers?
try reseting the router.

how do you reset a router?
it says TEW 431BRP on the front and has a little antenae on the back
I have a firewall but it was working okay before

if it has a switch just turn it off and on or if not unplug it, plug it back in.
try temporarily disabling your firewalls.
if that isn't working go to:
start, run
type in command
DOS should come up, type in ipconfig/release
then after that is done type in ipconfig/renew

another thing I just thought of could also be if you have a stereo, or anything else that produces a radio frequency near it. It could screw up the wireless connections. Let me know how all these work...im pretty well much out of other ideas though...at least for now

try updating the firmware for the router. Here is the site.

do both the 1204 and the 1205 updates.
just ensure that when you install it you are doing it through a wired connection, and not over the wireless. Also ensure no other computers are connected via wireless.
