American Idol is back and, jeebus help us all, I'm watching again. The audition shows were, as usual, totally useless. The producers pick and choose which freaks get to the last panel and there are many online accounts that suggest that what we see on TV often doesn't even reflect what actually happens at the point Randy, Paula and Simon hear them

Unfortunately... yes... I'm watching... although after this week's results show I might just hang it up... I don't feel drawn to really like or even hate anyone this year... we'll see how the ladies do tonight... that being said... I'm guessing Garrett Halley will go home this week... guy #2 to bite it? (besides them all biting pretty hard last night) ummmm... maybe the first performer, since I don't remember anything about him at all... or the guy who did the song from "Midnight Cowboy" or the guy who ruined "Moon River." Obviously Danny Noriega is this year's Sanjaya and will probably make the top 10...

I kinda like Moon River guy - he DID really make it into a cheese-fest like you'd hear at a theme park, but I really dug that he chose the song. I JUST watched Breakfast at Tiffany's last week and love that song. He's got an OK voice, but is working way too hard at "making it his own."

And, yeah, Danny is this year's Sanjaya, but with a better voice (like that is saying much). People like him and Garrett are perfect examples that show that the producers are NOT picking the best singers, but trying to cast a television show with plants to get viewers (the Aussie guy and the kid who won Star Search) and people to be trashed and voted off quickly. I just love the fact that the total losers have the chance to go pretty far like Sanjaya did last year. (I'm a VoteForTheWorst.com kinda viewer, I'm afraid - the trainwrecks really make it for me now - how else can I bare to watch it anymore?)
