It’s been a while since I’ve last gone back.
Missin’ the family, scenery and all that.
Can’t wait for the day I go back,
Just to see all of your faces smilin’ right back.
Let me back it up for you to explain why I’m feelin like this.
Like I said before it’s the family I miss.
In addition, it’s also the hot days that I miss,
But more importantly, it’s you guys that I miss.
At first I was heart broken to hear the news.
That my one of my grandfathers left me for good.
He’d gone up in the sky to be with what’s good,
But I know he’s still smilin’ and proud of what I do.
A year later I would be hit once again,
This time my other grandfather left to be with Him.
God Almighty called my other grandfather in,
To the heavenly kingdom which He promised we’d all be in.
I prayed to God that they’d watch over me,
And to this day I’ve been blessed for what they continue to give me.
The wisdom and loving protection that they’ve always given me
Never ending, always there wherever I need them to be.
I don’t think a lot of people would understand,
How it is to wake up to some devastating news and,
Try to play it off as if nothing happened,
Yet inside you’re crying inside ‘cause you wish it was different
On that day, September 20th 2006
I thought I’d just have a normal day with
All my friends from school, and a normal day except
That something else was planned that
Day, by God above.
He would call you, one of my grandmother's, too, to join his kingdom.
I wasn’t upset or angry at God or you
‘Cause when Jesus died on that cross, He died for eternal life for me and you
And every one else for that matter,
Which the reason being, we were saved from thereon after
I couldn’t have asked for anything better
Because now for sure I’ll see all of you all in a better
Place, all in due time.
But for now, I’ll just pray to the Lord above
That through His saving grace I
Will see you all again in due time.
