”Very warm. Jas is like a big, hot water bottle.” Yawning, she rubs at her eyes and sits up. Her hair has curled throughout the night and is now sticking out in all sorts of directions. “Are we leaving today?”

"Yes." Alejandro gets up and goes to his dresser to put on his normal clothes. "You'd better get home to your papa to see if there's anything you need to do."

{Yeah. I hate days like today. It's all grey and icky and the temperature is cold, and all you want do to is sleep, but I have homework I'm supposed to be working on. D:}

“Okay. I need to take off my pajamas, too.” Just a little uncoordinated and unsteady still from sleepiness she crosses the small caravan and tip toes to give him a kiss good morning on the mouth. Alejandro smiles when she pulls back.

Jaspre blinks when a hand tugs at his arm and thinks nothing of it when Absinthia tells him to bend down. He does, and is surprised when she kisses him too.

She giggles at his dumbfounded face. “I’ll see you later!”

(And it being Sunday just makes it worse, doesn't it? I hate Sundays :/ Our weather has been fluctuating a lot lately.)

Alejandro smiles after her as he finishes pulling on his shirt, a loose minty green button up. "Come on," he says, slipping into his shoes. "Let's go get something to eat. I'm famished."

{It does. Thankfully it's labor day tomorrow, which means I don't have school. It got really cold here all of a sudden on Friday and it's been staying like that all weekend. :/}

”We never did eat dinner last night, did we?” It’s a rhetorical question. Hunger gnaws at his neglected stomach, so breakfast sounds positively delicious right now. They make their way to the mess area, where only a few monsters are spread about, all looking tired from the previous night, and get some toast, dried fruit and tea from Ingrid.

(I already miss the summer D:)

They eat breakfast quickly and then go back for seconds because they're both starving. When they finish the second helping, Alejandro tells Jaspre to go to Sylvester to see what he can do to help them take everything down.

"Help take down the equipment in the big top," Sylvester tells him. "They always needs an extra hand with that."

{I actually don't like summer as much as I like fall. o_O Weird, huh? I think after they pack up we should skip ahead a bit, no? Also I'm making dinner so replies will be slow.}

Everyone is hard at work in the main tent. Taking down the platforms in the top and the poles that hold the tent up is difficult and heavy, even for skilled hands. Jaspre is clumsy and unused to their methods, so instead of lending them his physical strength, he lends them his magic, and they are pleased with that.

It still takes hours to get the tent down and pack it up, and when they finish he stands back, staring at the flattened vegetation left behind. The grass will return to normal in time, and the only thing they leave here will be the memories of wonderful performances.

And he thinks that it isn’t so bad to travel like this and make an impact on people’s lives.

(I like fall for its colours and enjoying hot drinks :3 The thing is, I can't handle cold or heat, so I really dislike any season but summer, which is mild. And yep! And they can have their bonding moment then, no? Oh, at some point the circus should be in Mahon/Duhollow, and Jas can get all conflicted and stuff after seeing Sulli :3)

Alejandro spends the day helping to pack up the costume tent and caravans, and by evening, he and everyone else is tired. Ingrid's kitchen in the last to go, everyone stopping to have a quick bite before helping her to pack up.

Before he knows it, they are on the road again.

{See, summer is really hot and humid here. Spring is our mild season, which is why it's my favorite, but I really like fall for the colors and the hot drinks too. :3 And scarves. I love scarves. Oh, oh, and Ariya will be there too making things even more tense, and Anton will be there and while Ariya and Sulli are enjoying the circus, Anton will be in crowd glaring at everything and thinking, "Goddamnit I hate my life." :D}

In the beginning everything is chaotic, and Jaspre can’t quite grasp or fall into the routines of Cirque Macabre, no matter how hard he tries to pay attention to everything that’s happening. Alejandro tells him to take it easy, that he will become used to it soon enough, and smiles at him ( ... )

Alejandro smiles as she sits down. "You need to stop eating so many sweets, Sinthia," he teases. "You'll turn into a sprinkle."

{He is. XD I love him for it, though. That would be good! And neat! Would you believe that all of the names of the cities I've made are actually taken from cheeses? :3 It's supposed to be a secret theme.}

”I don’t want to stop,” she protests. “Sweets make me happy.”

“I agree with him, honey. Your teeth will end up rotting from eating them so often.” Unlike Alejandro, Grimm is not teasing. The man is withdrawn and quiet, often times grumpy and liable to snap, and so very obviously gliding back into his insomnia.

“Ew. I don’t want to lose my teeth.” Making a face, she stuffs another spoonful in her mouth and shoves the bowl away. “Can I sleep with you and Jas tonight?”

(Of course. I do too! Anton, the grumpy rock with the marshmallowy center. Seriously, cheese? I'd never have guessed. XD.)

Alejandro glances at Grimm, who looks a little more tired than he did yesterday. "I think you should sleep with your papa tonight," he says. "He looks like he could use the company.

{Yup! One of the perks of being a cheese fanatic. :D Mahon Curado and Duhollow Cheddar are some of my favorites. One is Spanish and the other is Irish.}

After glancing up at her father she reluctantly nods, and Grimm forces himself to smile weakly and reaches up to stroke her hair, making her lean into the touch for more. “I’ll read a bit for you so you can sleep, papa.”

It’s almost about time for Jaspre to speak to Grimm about the curse again. It needs to be eased before their first performance here.

A sharp kaw catches his attention; he looks up to see a messenger bird with a letter attached to its leg appearing over their heads. It lands when he holds out his arm for it. After he has carefully detached the letter it takes off, melting into the night.

His name is written in a blocky, terrible hand writing on the front.

It’s from Sullivan.

He excuses himself and leaves the table.

(Okay, that totally cracks me up O_O I'm sorry that I write these longass parts compared to you.)

Alejandro watches him go, frowning. What could possibly be in a letter that he needs to excuse himself to read it? he wonders.

"How are you feeling?" he asks Grimm, trying to distract himself.

{It's okay! It'll make the editing process much easier. :D}

“Tired. I’ve been having nightmares for a few nights.” The tightness around his eyes and the colour of his scales speak for themselves. Grimm looks at his daughter and sighs, not wanting to worry her by speaking of his dreams while she is there.

“Then you need to ask Jas to help you, like he did before.”

“I will, Sinny. Tomorrow. I’m too tired tonight.”

“But you’ll be able to sleep if he does it tonight.”

“I’ll be fine,” he assures her. Unspoken is just how painful the magic Jaspre uses on him is, and he knows that Alejandro knows. They look at each other.

(It will? O_o)

Alejandro smiles. "I'm sure he'll be fine, Sinthia," he says. "How about after lunch you help me and Gwen set up the costume tent?"

{Sure! Because then I don't have to switch the POV's so much and it'll flow much more smoothly. Sorry about the wait; dinner.}

“Okay! I’m pretty good at helping with the little tents.” There is pride in the way she smiles. “I’m almost done eating.” The temptation of the sprinkles becomes too much despite the mental image her father put in her head of teeth falling out.

It is not until they have finished and are about to get up that Jaspre returns. “Unless my help is desperately needed, I’m going back to the caravan for a bit,” he says quickly, offering them a little smile. “Will you be alright without my help?”

“I’ll be fine- I’m a big girl.” She cocks her head when she sees that the letter is all curled up and wrinkled, held tightly in a closed fist.

(Ah, I see. Okay :3)
