RPG - Jas and Alejandro

He pauses. “Yes, it’s truly a shame. I can’t imagine how the show could surpass tonight’s, though,” he says, smiling, and raises his glass in compliment to him before downing the last few mouthfuls.

A sense of unease creeps under his skin as he looks out at the circus folk and their moving home, and he cannot place the reason for it. He contains ( Read more... )

Alejandro smiles and nods. "The circus is my home," he says, looking out at the monster gathered here. "I was raised here. I couldn't possibly imagine living somewhere else."

He looks back at Jaspre. "What about you?" he asks. "Where does a traveler come from, and does he enjoy wandering?"

“This traveler hails from Casinus, a small town off south from here,” he replies. Not many show recognition at the name of his birth town, which is why he chooses to tell those who ask. “I’ve been travelling for seventy-something years. It’s not a bad life.”

Alejandro cocks his head, as he is prone to do when thinking. "It must be a lonely life, though," he says. "Most of the travelers I meet rarely have companions."

”I’ve had companions, from time to time, if one can call them such, rather than acquaintances. Often, our ways part soon.” He shrugs. “It can get lonely, true, but I don’t mind it.” It’s not entirely true. Not anymore. In the past he would have shied away from travelling companions, but now…Sullivan made a sudden appearance in his life, but in that short amount of time he may have changed Jaspre more than he cares to admit. “Travelling alone is more convenient, though. I know the wildlife well enough to manage with few resources.”

Subtle melancholy is layered into his voice, barely there, unknown to him. He finishes the rest of the pie and pushes the plate away. “Your cook would be well justified to brag about her pie. It was delicious.”

(Martin drew me sexy Sulli :O I had not thought such a thing was possible. I'll scan in a little while!)

He smiles. "I knew you would like it," he says.

An awkward silence befalls them, and Alejandro senses that Jaspre is about to leave. "Why don't you stick around for a bit?" he asks. "After dinner we usually have a gathering around a bonfire. There's usually singing and dancing. It's quite fun."

{Woah. Weird. I don't know if my brain is ready to handle that.}

There is no harm in staying a little while longer, is there? Some deep seated part of him enjoys the company of Alejandro and his sweet smiles, a good meal shared with someone instead of eating by himself in a tavern. He can admit, to himself at least, that he has been lonely.

“I suppose I’m not in a hurry,” he says, giving a nod.

(XD. I like it. But I prefer non-sexy Sulli. OH- they should totally dance. YES/NO?)

Alejandro's face splits into a wide smile. "Perfect!" he exclaims, standing up. "You can help me set up the bonfire!"

They throw their dishes in the large wash basins and go to an area nearer to the woods, away from the flammable tent and caravans. A few of the performers have already started setting up the wood structure, including Grimm. Alejandro walks over to give him a hand. "Is Sinthia alright?" he asks.

{NO. Haha, I kid. Of course they should dance. :3 Also, I have this idea that because Alejandro is part nymph, who are highly sexualized fairies, he has this thing where if he meets someone lonely, he tries to help them by staying with them for a little while, until they can get back on their feet and into the game, as it were. And he wants to do that with Jas, but he ends up falling in love on the way, which scares him because nymphs rarely want to be with one single person and he doesn't know how to deal with it.}

Grimm straightens up, a deep frown etched onto his face, and nods. “She’s asleep. I don’t know how she’ll feel in the morning.” He averts his eyes and stares at the ground, shoulders tense and heavy. “I shouldn’t have let her wander off on her own,” he says, very quietly, and grits his teeth. Before Alejandro can open his mouth to say anything, he speaks again. “After things quiet down here, will you sleep with her? She’ll feel better if you are there in the morning, Alejandro.”

Jaspre starts to help building the bonfire. It would be rude to stand by and listen to their conversation. Of course, he can still hear what they’re saying, but he tries to pay it no mind.

(*purrs* God, I love you. That's perfect!)

Alejandro smiles. "Of course," he says.

They finish building the bonfire, and then Alejandro convinces Jaspre to light it, as is tradition with guest. Gwen breaks out her fiddle and Alejandro grabs a tambourine, and they begin to play. Soon all the monsters are up and dancing.

{Yay! Dinner, love. Be back in a bit.]

There are no drums to set a beat. There’s only the fiddle, the tambourine and a few other instruments that are passed around as the monsters playing tire of playing and rise to dance, tugging partners along with them to the bonfire. Jaspre can’t play, and he politely declines whenever anyone tries handing him one. Eventually, however, someone slips a tambourine into his hands.

His foot taps against the ground to the rhythm, muscles relaxing as the music seeps into his marrow and blood, slowly loosening him up. The thoughts no longer race around in his mind; they are a low buzz in the background, far away. A small, genuine smile lifts the corners of his mouth.

And his eyes follow Alejandro, even when he tries to look elsewhere. From the corner of his eyes he sees him, beautiful to behold as he dances with someone he knows, a smile lighting up his eyes.

(Which colours are Alejandro's hair/eyes? Just curious :3)

Having handed off his tambourine a while ago, Alejandro laughs freely as he dances around the bonfire, switching partners easily and quickly. At some point he notices Jaspre watching him, and he grins at him before coming over and grabs his hand, pulling him up so they can dance together.

{Um. I haven't quite figured that out yet. I think his hair is either really dark brown or black with a little blue undertone, and his eyes are probably a cerulean blue. His skin is grey with a light blue tinge. He's half water nymph, so.}

Jaspre takes it in stride and moves on light, quick feet along with him, slipping his fingers between the boy’s. He takes the lead, and Alejandro lets him, adapting flawlessly to the dance he initiates. It’s carefree and fun, and no one’s trying to prove themselves to those watching.

It’s not long before he is smiling at Alejandro, pulling him close to his body and coming apart a second later, the heat from his skin warming the hand in his own.

(I pictured him with blue eyes right from the start :O And dark hair. Telepathy! Did you get the mail with the drawings?)

Alejandro smiles at him, surprised at how fluidly he moves despite his bulky frame. He wonders vaguely in the back of his mind what kind of monster Jaspre is, and then he stops caring because he's having too much fun.

They dance for a long time, and so well. Jaspre twirls and dips him, and Alejandro laughs as he spins around him, light on his feet. He can hear cheers and whistles from the other monsters gathered there, and it brings a warmth to his chest and a blush to his cheeks.

Eventually, Gwen tires of playing, and they have to stop for a while. They sit down, gladly accepting the ale given to them, out of breath and thirty. "You're a very good dancer," Alejandro tells him, smiling.

{I think it's going to be a medium brown, actually. This is what his mother was, and I haven't decided on his father yet. I did! They were very nice. Sulli looks good with a ponytail.}

”Not quite up to par with you, I’m afraid.” The ale is drained in one go. He exhales and sighs, wiping his mouth with the back of one hand to catch any stray drops. “I shouldn’t have expected any less from an acrobat ( ... )

Alejandro frowns slightly, having been looking forward to more dancing, but Jaspre looks tired, so he smiles. "Alright," he says. He accepts another ale, and sits backs, watching the other monsters dance as somone picks up Gwen's discarded fiddle.

Eventually, they all grow tired, and most of them beg off for the night. Alejandro sits around and talks for as long as he can before finally he feels almost too tired to walk, and goes back to Jaspre. "It's late," he murmurs. "I should probably go to bed."

He doesn't want to, not really. He likes this man, and he likes spending time with him.

{Mmm, I changed my mind. I can't see him with medium brown hair. So it's going to be dark brown with a gold undertone. It was cute!}

“I second that. You look like you might fall asleep standing up, Alejandro,” he teases, earning a smile from him that pleases him. It’s strange, and he doesn’t know what to think of it, but he has made an effort tonight to make Alejandro smile at him. It puts him at ease to hear the younger monster’s laugh.

It might just be that he is tired and isn't thinking straight, because he is reluctant to leave the circus behind.

“Thanks for the meal and the dance. I enjoyed myself tonight.” He nods and takes a step back. “Bid the little girl hello for me.”

(Oh, I think that'll really suit him! I never thought I could squee as much as I did over Sulli's bellubutton :D)
