Above him, Usoa goes rigid as the realisation hits him.
“I can’t…beat you…,” he wheezes,” but let’s see…how well you handle…Jack himself.”
A wide, toothy grin splits his lips. Usoa’s eyes pierce him, and Sullivan laughs at the panic he sees there and can almost hear the accusation that can’t make it past the monster’s lips, the shocked you

Anton’s name leaves his mouth, choked up and laced with the agony of withdrawal.

Their eyes meet.
Sullivan lapses into weak sobbing and gasping, shuddering as fingers touch his cheek and stroke it gently, though without affection. There is blood seeping through his feverish skin to pool around him, and he vaguely knows that he is dying, but he can’t hold a thought long enough to understand it.
”Jack…” he whispers in a cracked voice and blinks slowly. His skin feels like it’s on fire.
(Good burgers are absolutely amazing :3 And alright. I can't stay up all that long tonight, because Tuesdays are long days, but I'll probably be around until two am or so. I like Jack :D)

On the next tap, the fingers don't land on the skin; they go through the flesh, all the way to the other side, and Jack wrenches his arm out and the boy's head comes off with a terrible scream.
{I'm not a huge burger fan, but once in a while, a good burger just really hits the spot. :3 Okay. I love Jack. He's my baby. XD}

He realises that there is something wrong with his body -or his head, he can't tell which- but he doesn't know what,
and he is too far gone to feel the pain that should be there; there is nothing but the pulsing heat that flows through him,
the knowledge that he's fading fast. His mind is slipping away.
Something slithers over his skin, something...something like a tingle. It's warm and firm, vibrating.
Dimly it clicks that he should be dead, but he isn't.
Why is...
The thought slips away.
And then, an image. A name floats through his head, a whisper. He knows that name.
Anton.
Anton, who is bonded to him. Anton, who he once kept from dying through the sheer magic of their bonding. Anton, who is
keeping him alive at this very moment.
(Oh, poor, poor Sulli :O I'm waiting for the buss.)

Anton.
Sullivan.
And then he knows, without really having to know at all.
Sullivan is dying.
He blinks, and suddenly everything is clear.
He stands, the pain that was just there suddenly dulled and unimportant in the face of what he needs to do. He begins to run, traveling as fast as he can towards the portal so that he can find Sullivan and save him.
{Not many at all. XD Agni would probably just stare and be like, "... Right. I'm going to go bleach my brain now.}

It doesn’t hurt. Nothing hurts. He can’t feel a thing, except for the shudders that wreck him. From the corner of his eye he can see a leg -his leg?- and he thinks vaguely that it’s odd, because it’s not supposed to be there, like that.
His hand and feet are already gone, turned into black puddles in the grass; the magic can only barely stop it from spreading.
(XD. Yeah. Agni knows way to muchy about their sex life. How are you? Long trip home?)

He comes to a field, and from the edge of the forest he can see Usoa's body, green and mangled, the top of his head lopped off and nothing inside. So Jack did come. A sick feeling forms in the pit of his stomach as he moves, all the horrible things that might have happened to Sullivan racing through his mind, and he very nearly cries out when he finally sees his head.
Which, he realizes a second later, is not attached to the rest of him.
"Sullivan!"
{Not really, but I had to go to class right after, which is why it took so long to reply. How are you?}

Someone’s shouting. Shouting his name?
It echoes within himself, in his mind, loud and clear, and he knows, somehow, that Anton is nearby, that he’s finally here. Opening his mouth he tries to speak, to let him know that he’s right here, except he can’t. The only thing that comes out are gasps and choked noises.

"Sullivan," he gasps. "Help me."
{Cool!}

And suddenly he’s terrified that he’ll never get to touch him again, or see him smile, scared beyond wits that he’s leaving him when he doesn’t want to, doesn’t want to at all.
“A-a-an…to…n.”
He pleads without words for the man to help him.
Sullivan doesn’t want to die.
(Poor Sulli baby D:)

{I know, I feel so bad for him.}

The hunger in him stirs at the contact and tries to take Anton’s essence, to feed, but it is so very tired now, too tired to make it work, and Sullivan cries then, because that was all he had left. He shakes and presses a quivering kiss to Anton’s mouth.
loveyouIloveyou.
He goes limp, eyelids gradually becoming heavier, and stops fighting.
(I feel really bad for Anton too, who has to watch him.)

He can feel himself starting to cry, not knowing what to do. If feeding doesn't, then how the hell is he supposed to-
The bond.
He doesn't think; he doesn't have to. He breaks off with a gasp, and laws at his chest, ripping open the flesh and ignoring the pain and the blood, breaking off the ribs that get in the way until he can see his heart. It hurts to sink his nails in, to rip it in half, but he has no other choice. If this doesn't work, he loses Sullivan forever, and he doesn't think he could handle that.
With his other hand, he rips what is left of Sullivan's chest open, and places the heart inside before kissing him again, mumbling words that he memorized a long time ago and has never forgotten. You are my life, my soul, my other half. Take my heart and live forever with me, until the end of days when there is nothing but darkness. Take it, and belong to me.
{Dinner, love. I'll be back in a little bit.}
