RPG - Anton & Sulli 3

“Frankenstein said that the way I was born makes me a monster, but what I was orn from makes me a ghost. I’m a hybrid. That essence is what keeps me together, supported by voices.” He can’t remember the details too well- it has been a long time since Anton and he went to see the Doctor the first time.

He frowns. "What qualities of a ghost do you have?" he asks.

{That's cool. BTW, Caliban is asking him these questions so he can better formulate his training.}

Sullivan opens his mouth to speak, then stops suddenly, because he is not certain of the answer to his question. “I’m not sure, sir. All I know is that I’m made from negative energy that has been given a tangible form, and that energy is what makes up the ghost part of me, I think. If I don’t eat the energy of voices, the stuff I'm made from, I’ll dissolve into nothing.” A shiver runs up his spine at the memory of melting and being unable to stop it.

(Thought it might be something like that. I actually had to go back to the first book and read up on this, because I don't remember it clearly.)

He nods. "Did you have a plan for eating while you are here?" he asks. Frankenstein had mentioned Zoë being a reasonable option, but Caliban would prefer not to put him in harm's way if at all possible. He knows the boy doesn't always have the best self control.

{I think that was right; it's what I remember, anyway.}

“I’ve brought a supply of bottled voices, but I only had a week’s notice to get hold of them, and there were only so many voices I could steal without getting attacked. The more exhausted I am, the more often I have to feed- they won’t last for more than a week or two.”

He looks down at the plate of mostly untouched food before him; he is not comfortable with what he is asking of Caliban, not after what he did to Anton. Withdrawal tosses all self restraint out the window.

"Then you'll feed from me on a daily basis," he says, and at the boy's sudden look of protest adds, "You will need; that I can guarantee."

He takes a few moments to eat some of his dinner before continuing, "What sorts of fighting skill do you have now?"

“I have…It’s similar to a Siren’s scream, I suppose. I can use every voice I’ve eaten and combine them to create noise that crushes bone,” he says. “My strength and magic are pretty lacking, but I’m agile. It also helps that I don’t have any bones or organs, so I can bend whichever way I like, or manipulate only specific parts of me to do it. My speed is probably my best skill.” He takes a few more bites before he puts down the eating utensils and sits up straighter in the chair.

(Sulli is going to be super creeped out by feeding from him, XD.)

He raises an eyebrow. "You have no bones or organs?" he asks, and Sullivan nods. "Interesting." That was unforeseen, but will probably be a boon to the boy, and to him. He won't have to heal any broken limbs or damaged organs.

He pauses, trying to think of anything else he needs to ask the boy, but comes up with nothing, so instead he just resumes eating as says nothing more.

{And Caliban will just by like, "What are you waiting for?" *intense raised eyebrow stare*, which of course won't help anything. XD}

The conversation dies, and Caliban seems content to let it do so. Of course, the questions were not asked out of interest in him or for the sake of being polite, but likely to give the monster an idea of how Sullivan functions. For the remainder of the meal he waits, occasionally sipping a glass of water and glancing at the two other monsters present.

(Oh yes :3 His voice is also probably going to make Sulli a bit overwhelmed/possibly drunk because he's so old. If Sulli had bones, he's constantly be wearing a cast from fighting so much with Anton, XD.)

Caliban finishes his meal first. "Your lessons start tomorrow at six in the morning. Don't be late."

He rises and leaves without looking back, while Zoë moves immediately to clear away his dishes.

{That'll be fun to write, I'm sure. :3 And yeah, he totally would. They match each other perfectly in that way. XD}

For a little while longer he sits there, frowning. “Will you wake me in time for my lessons? I don’t know where he wants me to go,” he asks Zoe.

(They do, don't they? It's odd how some things just worked out perfectly :3)

Zoë nods and smiles. "Of course, Master Sullivan," he says. "Are you finished with your meal?"

{Its kind of odd how everything is this story has worked out so well. And sorry about the wait, love. Dinner as usual.}

“Yes.” He feels like he should apologize for hardly touching his food; it is not that it wasn’t to his liking, quite the contrary, but he isn’t very hungry, and the nervousness stirs him up. “I fed earlier,” he says, by way of apology. “There is no need to make breakfast for me- regular food gives me no nutrition." Considering how Zoe is the only servant, it'd be silly to make him cook for three when only two need to eat.

He stands up and pushes the chair back into place. “Good night.”

(I know. It's like it was meant to be written, however cheesy and predestined that sounds. No need to apologize, love. Oh, I just read something beautiful http://miss-deathwish.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2tl9u9)

"Good night," Zoë replies, and resumes his cleaning.

{I'll read it as soon as I have a moment. I'm kind of replying in between activities here.}

Sullivan manages to find his way back to his room, and once he gets there he pulls the sweater over his head and crawls under the table that Zoe so kindly has prepared for him, wrapping himself up tight in the blankets.

Tonight he is far away from home and by himself, and though he thinks that he will probably spend the night awake, sleep comes surprisingly easy as soon as he closes his eyes. And when he dreams, he dreams of the violin, held in long, nimble fingers, played with exquisite skill.

(Yes, yes :3)

Zoë wakes early in the morning, preparing a quick breakfast for Caliban and a little something for Sullivan in case in changes his mind about wanting breakfast, an tea for both. The goes to Sullivan's room, first, knocking on the door before entering. "You have your lesson in thirty minutes," he says. "Here's some tea and a little breakfast if you want it. I'll be back in twenty minutes to take you to the training area."

Not quite awake yet, he can only nod to show that he heard him and rub at his sleepy eyes. Slowly, he leaves the comfort of the blankets and gets dressed in loose, comfortable pants and a t-shirt that isn’t all that important to him, seeing as it will probably suffer damage during the day. He takes a few bites of the breakfast brought to him out of habit and spends the wait for Zoe to return sipping his tea.

As soon as the boy knocks and opens the door, he is ready to leave, caught in a state between excitement and dread at what awaits him.
