I want a friends only banner, since all the cool kids seem to be getting one. Except my LJ isn't friends only. And my disclaimer's too big to fit on a graphic. LOL
I just feel like I'd be missing out on meeting new cool people if I lock mine down. It frustrates me when I go snooping through friends' FL's, and come across the dreaded (though usually very pretty) FO banner/stopsign. Usually, there's a 'comment to be added' thing, but there's rarely enough in the userinfo to go on. What if we friend each other, but then don't get along? Then there's the whole defriending issue. Oy. Too much to go through. (See how good I am at overthinking?)
Luckily, I haven't had cause to consider making it FO, and I can friendslock personal/embarrassing stuff. So I'll covet your banner, and make 4000 of them that I'll never use.
Yeah, I completely friends locked mine cause someone was reading it and I didn't know it. I really didn't want them reading my journal. So I just went completely friends only. I'm thinking about lifting it again but I'm not sure.
Lurkers bug me. It's like, you friended me, and you're probably reading this, so why not just say SOMETHING? Once in a while? But no, they're usually just hanging around for the occasional public file post. If someone wanders into my LJ and sees something they don't like, they can just wander back out. But that's just me. You should do what feels right to you.
well, I can be pretty vocal when it comes to things I like and dislike about Justin. This person who I really don't like who thinks that Timberlake is some sort of God read my post. I immediately friends locked everything after that. She's known for picking fights with me to begin with.
It's a JOURNAL, where the owner expresses his/her opinion. You don't like it, rant in your own journal. It's one thing to have a differing point of view and even to have a debate/discussion, but just to pick a fight? How petty is that?
