The Gay Porn Magazine Sorting Project has entered a new phase.
Today, I finished unloading all my gay porn magazines from the closet. Yes! I'm quite aware of the bitter and humorous irony of keeping my gay porn magazines in the closet. Anyway, they are all out on the floor now, sorted into piles. I started out trying to keep things in some sort of alphabetical order, with the titles starting with "A" on the left and moving through the alphabet to the right. Sadly, that effort ended pretty quickly as I badly misjudged how many different titles I had in my possession. I started a pile (visible in the rear of Image #3, leaning against the grey boxy A/C unit) of "one-off" titles, but quickly found out that I had more than a handful of a given title. This forced me to start a new, out-of-order title, as well as dig repeatedly through that pile to locate the odd issue that wasn't so odd after all.
The biggest stack? Inches.
Second-highest stack? Playguy.
Third-highest stack? A tie between Mandate, Playgirl, Freshmen, and Advocate Men.
Honorable Mention stacks: Torso, Blueboy, Black Inches, Honcho, All Man, Jock, and Numbers.
Truth be told, I was sure that I had many more issues of Numbers, All Boy, Latin Inches, and Numbers than I actually had.
I found a number of issues of XXX Showcase and Manshots which I thought I'd lost, as well as several still-in-the-plastic issues of Blue. Sweet!
Now what I start to do is put each title in chronological order. It's harder than it sounds. These fuckers are slippery and don't stand up well! Plus, many gay porn magazines put the date of the issue on a different spot for every issue (the motherfuckers), or neglect to put the date on the cover entirely. ARGH! My eventual goal is to re-store these in banker's boxes in the closet in alphabetical order (I need to know where issues are).
