The year is almost over. I can't say I'll be sorry to see 2012 go. It wasn't the worst of years, but it was not the best of years either. But some good did come out of it.
Looking back to the start of the year,
I set a few goals for myself, and I thought I'd revisit them.
My first two goals were taking charge of my finacnes, and making progress toward buying a house. I'm pleased to say that these two have been great successes. I completely finished paying off my student loans early this year, and started dumping a big percentage of my paycheck into savings. As of today my only remaining debt is a car loan that will be gone in 2013, everything else is paid off entirely. As a result, I've managed to save a good chunk of a downpayment, over 25% of my goal. I think that in 2014 I actually will be able to buy a house, FINALLY... just, probably not in the Bay Area.
My third goal, my health, has not gone nearly as well. I gained weight this year, a lot of it due to stress eating. It's a struggle, but I have to keep trying to lose the weight and get energetic and mobile. I'm back on Weight Watchers now, at least. My health is more important than anything, I don't want to die young.
For 2013, I don't have any new goals. I'm just going to keep the same ones, and continue to work on them. Health will be priority number one, now that finances are in control.
