god i love movies
i realised i hadnt made a gushing post about last samurai yet so here it is, damn. damn damn. amazing, brilliant, wonderfull, best movie of all time. i predict oscars for best editing, best cinematography, best score, best script, best supporting actor (Ken Wanatabe), best actor, best director and best film. after he went and saw it, rob made a comment that Wanatabi should have played Mace Windu, while samuel l jackson is the origional badassmothafucka, i have to agree wanatabe would have done a better job.
went and saw Somethings Gotta Give yesterday. it was an ok script with some ok direction and two amazing performances. i was awed by nicholson and keaton the entire time, their timing was perfect, there performances were amazing, two actors at the top of their games.
as i exited the theatre i saw a poster for a live action disney movie called miracle, which was the story of the 1980 USA hockey team that beat the USSR in the olympics. i love hockey, i love sports movies, i love disney sports movies (the mighty ducks, the rookie, remember the titans) so i came home and downloaded the trailer off of IMDB. it looks amazing and the beginning of February cannot come soon enough. i thought that my enthusiasm for this movie could not be topped untill a few moments later...
i checked my e mail and saw one from the spiderman 2 website telling me the first trailer was going to be available to watch at midnight. i stayed up, i watched it, i drooled alot. may cant come soon enough.
so all in all a very good time for movies, i have no idea what could make it any better.
oh wait, yes i do, Return of the king in two days. (Does happy dance)
