The nice thing about this live journal business is that I can easily
look back at my entries from the last year and bring them up in a
matter of seconds. In doing so, I quickly came across my New
Year's resolutions from last year. Let's see how I did!
~Continue working on the following areas from last year (2004)
*Integrating religion into life (+-)
I focused
more on spirituality than religion this year. Finding
contentedness within myself
*Exercising more (+-)
Funny that
this resolution has reappeared for multiple years along with 70% of the
nation. I am so glad that I am part of
a
statistic! (boo) Anyway, I feel I still could work on
spending more time outside but I am feeling better about my body these
days so that is a wonderful thing. Endorphins, btw, are also a
wonderful plus to exercising I have discovered. They are a great
antidepressant in many situations.
*Improving self confidence (+-)
I have a feeling that this is going to be a lifelong characteristic for
me to be aware of. Having said that, I feel that I am much more
comfortable with myself.
*Journaling more (+-)
So, I started off the year well in this regard and journaling really
pulled me through some hard times as an outlet. On the other
hand, I am emotionally much more stable these days and may not depend
on such venues as much.
~Be a vegetarian (for real, not just half assed) (+++)
Hooray! I have managed for an entire year and my ferritin levels
are looking great. No worries here!
~Apply to medical schools (both COM's and others) (---)
I most definitely made a valient attempt at this but realized a little
late that I really wasn't feeling ready to take the next step.
Will I apply again en el futuro? I am not so sure. I am
thinking that being a Nurse Practicioner might be more up my
alley. However, for the time being I am really trying to just be
and take things as they come. Heck - I am only 23!
~No flings (---)
Best laid plans ....
~Focus in on my passions, whatever they might be (+-)
Another work in process. I am still discovering!
~Let enjoy being me be a primary goal as opposed to continual improvement (++)
I think this year was a pivotol one in regards to my taking a step back
and evaluating exactly where I am, who I am, and who I want / don't
want to be. I don't want to relive this year ever again, but good
things came out of it and I feel like I am back in the game!
~Play piano more (+-)
Could be better, could be worse
~Work on being more decisive
Notice all the (+ - ) scores! ;)
