We've got this Norwegian proverb I can't off the top of my head find any English equivalents to, Hell i uhell, or "good luck in misfortune" (some hidden blessing in a streak of bad luck). Although to be fair today it wasn't so much bad luck as it was my absentmindedness.
Today I walked through sleet and cold and with a developing blister on my heel to pick up a package at the post office, and then when I arrived I suddenly remembered that as of six or so months ago, my mail is no longer sent to the post office, but to my local grocery shop. I never get used to that. Grumbling I started on the way back, when I walked past a window display (the post office is in one of the high-end "posh" malls in Bergen, so I hardly ever go there) and thought "Heh, those billboards look sort of like the ones they use at - wait."
AND IT WAS.
THERE'S FINALLY A
LUSH STORE IN BERGEN!
No longer do I have to order online or travel to Oslo the next time I want a good solid shampoo bar or delicious-smelling hand soap or restock
my favourite perfume! As a matter of fact I'm pretty well-stocked at the moment, but after browsing the store sharing my enthusiasm with the clerk I felt I should buy something to show my support so I finally got myself one of those practical
storage tins.
And so it turned out to be a good day after all.
