Wanna hear something sad? Today I walked outside for for the first time since my exam. And that was only because I'd run out of food. Oh and because the thought of reading some silly fiction instead of volumes of historians bitching at each other led me to the public library.

Not that it's very tempting to step outside in Bergen these days anyway. Here's a picture of the city yesterday, courtesy of the local newspaper BA:



No, it isn't fog or mist, it's smog. Another bonus our seven-plus mountains give us, in addition to tourists and the largest amount of rain in Norway. The internet guide to air quality in Norway's cities currently describes downtown Bergen as "a moderate health risk", and that's the best it's been in a while. Guess who lives in downtown Bergen?

I don't even drive a car, Bergen. I recycle and I don't use plastic bags, can I please be excused the pollution? Kthnxbye.
