So I'm watching the fourth season of the Granada Sherlock Holmes series (it was a present from dad when we were in Sweden last Sunday) and listen to this:
I'm two episodes in and I have no desire to cause grievious bodily harm to Watson!
Again: I'm watching Granada's Sherlock Holmes series and I have no inclinations to smack the good doctor or flatten his face with a brick or have Holmes distract him with a shiny object long enough for him to forget how to breathe and slowly suffocate due to his own stupidity.
This... is a new concept for me. Can really a change of actors make this big a difference? I mean, he's still a far cry from the intelligence of book-Watson (and he still doesn't feel like a Watson), but this is a big improvement.
In related news I'd also like to go on record and say that I don't care if Jeremy Brett had grown old and slightly flabbier at this point, he still had such stunning eyes.
DISCLAIMER: I'd like to specify that aforementioned Watson-hate is related to David Burke's Watson in the two first seasons of the Granada series. As for other versions, like canon!Watson, and not to mention BBC radioseries!Watson, I love the character with the passion of a thousand fiery suns.
