Blog: The Romantic & Idol (First Couple Set)
So I just finished the first set of The Romantic & Idol couples and I have to say I liked it though the rest of this...probably won't seem like I liked it. I want to make it clear though, this is my opinion on watching the show one time through and I am in no way some professional reviewer. I watched the show for fun and wrote this for fun.
I thought it was a bit drawn out at parts. Like do we have to hear them say 'My final choice is...' three or four times each? No, it's annoying, they were watching them for hours on end and yet they spend so much time on that sort of thing, it's just unnecessary. Twice would be one thing but over and over and then not even playing the clip, then doing it again when they came back to the person. Because of this for the last pick your final boyfriend thing I ended up just skipping the couples I wasn't interested in.
Alright the main part of this: How my view of the idol's changed.
For one I'm not familiar at all with female idols. I mean I don't listen to 4minute, Rainbow or AOA and whatever the last group came from. I mean I'm not sexiest I listen to Miss A, F(x), 2NE1 and such but yeah, not a whole lot of girl groups.
But I did know JB from his previous things as well as Jun.k (Which I think is a ridiculous name and I hate it), as well as Mir and I have to say my opinion on them changed from this.
First JB I thought he was just this cute kid. I mean he's not really to much of a rookie anymore but he isn't a big name yet, theres not a lot of stuff with him so I could really understand him. But I really thought he would be this genuinely sweet kid and from the first I thought he really cared for Seungah. But once his feelings for Jai developed I thought he was just being plane rude. Now I'm not Korean and I'm looking at this from the American perspective and maybe theres a huge difference but honestly even if I was Seungah and really liked JB I don't think I could stay in the car with a brooding brat who is either blind to my feelings or just doesn't care and continues to talk about another girl, it's just rude. And at the end when he stayed I got so angry, I really thought he just realized he would get dumped by Jei if he continued on and to save himself he played with Seungah's feelings.
I know this could all be scripted, I'm not one for completely believing in the whole, it's just a variety type show. But I generally thought scripted or not that was a low life move and what made me angrier was her accepting him. She couldn't be that much of a fool to think he really liked her. I think he just wanted to hurry up and get on the plane and leave. So my opinion changed and it wasn't to "Ahh JB is such a bad boy ;)" it was to "What a Jerk." *while biting off head o a gummy bear*
So next is Jun.k...we'll you already have my opinion on that name of his. But I never cared for him much...I didn't dislike him but I wasn't like "Oh, it's 2PM, JUN.K!!!!" now I'm more of a "Oh it's 2pm, I wonder what 2 am is doing...." so anyway.... To me he seems possessive and obsessive like to the point where it's just annoying. I mean I was obsessed over who picked change but he continued on with different things and the poor AOA girl (it's 3 a.m. here just deal with the AOA girl here) man she was just like a camera lackey to him. "Take a picture, take a picture." It was annoying and at one point when she was with him and he was talking about her not having a cell phone and wanting her email I could have sworn she was ready to get out of the car. So yea I'm still going "Hmm Jun.k....I wonder what Jo Kwon is up to."
Mir...alright my opinion on Mir hasn't changed. I've never thought he acted his age and quite honestly I give my blessings to whatever girl can handle him and I honestly though Seungah was better suited for him. She needed someone fun and he needed someone not afraid to give him a piece of her mind. But she seems to like her comfort zone and I can respect that to a point but lying to the camera and saying she liked Mir. Come on that was an obvious lie. I mean I'm pretty dull when it comes to things like this but yeah.
hmmm another one....
So our lovey dovey couple...can't remember their names It was J and H right........
Anyway I thought they were cute together, really. He was a such a gentleman and I still think at times she didn't look happy with him but other then that I think they made a cute couple and I liked them a lot.
But am I the only one who thinks a lot of ZE:A members are like slightly altered clones of members from other groups?
Anyway. I did think the show was good, kind of a cross between the Mnet Scandal and We got married.Scripted or not I enjoyed it. Mnet scandal was one of my favorites and We got married's earlier seasons we're some of the best couple stuff I've ever seen.
All in all if my friends watched things like foreign shows, (I live in the US) then I would definitely introduce them to it...but they don't.
