Gingerbread men of 2016

Now that they have both safely reached their respective destinations and are no longer a secret surprise, I may as well post them here. :P

Sometimes the small differences in size and shape are due to deliberate experimenting, and sometimes just to my absent-mindedness. :)

I never got to photograph the second one indoors (bad light, if i remember correctly).

So I rushed for an outdoor photo session before I sent them away to the US (that was on 13 November, but our mail is notoriously slow). There were still some autumn leaves around:

And here you get a bonus view of my hand holding them steady in the wind:

And I even found a Christmas tree for them. LOL

And here are my handmade Christmas cards that went with them.

To be honest, I started making my own cards out of sheer despair because I couldn't find any in the shops in November - and then I enjoyed it so much that I made a few for a charity market here in Bulgaria and sent them away today. Sorry that I didn't manage enough of them in time for those of you who got or are going to get store-bought cards, but.. our mail is slow, so I din't want to take any chances.

And ouch, I somehow never manage to make more than two gingerbread men per year, and haven't even made one for myself yet. I guess I should start them very early next year. :P
