It's frustrating to me that men have entire communities devoted to manipulating women, while women have entire communities devoted to whining about men manipulating women.

Reading this feminist blog and am really turned off by how much whining these people waste their time doing. "ISN'T THIS TERRIBLE? SOMETHING SHOULD REALLY BE DONE. I THINK I'LL WRITE ABOUT IT IN THIS BLOG."

Totally wasted energy trying to raise awareness by posting on a FEMINIST BLOG. First of all, to their readers they're either preaching to the choir OR if some non-feminist happens to stumble onto the page it's probably just to mock it. And amid all of the articles making valid points there are certainly some head-scratchers and lolfests.

Anyway, my point is it's hardly enough to MAKE A GOOD POINT. Because even if you raise awareness, who cares? What are you going to do? Attend a protest? Definition of A Protest- a collection of people whining with the delusion that it might actually make a fucking difference and people will finally care.

Nothing is going to change, they don't have any control over the situation at all on a larger scale. They're not going to be writing any bills, and it's even worse for them to think they can be the fucking thought police by individually managing everyone's attitude to match their own. Or even worse still, guilt them into thinking that their opinion/natural inclination somehow makes them a bad person (this is my biggest problem with minorities who wine about racism). Why not take a look at the things women do wrong that perpetuate sexism? THAT can be fixed. Whining doesn't fix shit.

You can't change the attitudes of other people, you can only work with what you've got by understanding attitudes and expectations... Instead of trying to eliminate the force behind sexism and gender roles why not use the same force which drives it to suit your needs? That to me is a lot more empowering and effective.
