i worked at the larrabee elem. ymca today and it was way too much fun. the kids there were adorable and awesome. when i left, this kid tony ran over and hugged me... he was wearing a yellow t-shirt that he'd drawn a skull on with the words "good karma" inside. it was pretty sweet.
i also met this kid named richard there who was in 4th grade and had bought freaks and geeks on dvd because he remembered watching it on tv. he's a big wes anderson fan and even knew about jason schwartzman's cameo thing on freaks and geeks. he's also really into curb your enthusiasm, weeds and the sopranos. i think i'd like his parents.
richard and i were having a laughing contest and after about thirty seconds of stone-cold silence he said, "i'm a virgin" and i lost it. then i had to talk to him seperately about how sometimes the things he says aren't appropriate because not all of the kids will get his sense of humor, but i don't think he believed i really thought that because i was laughing the whole time.
during the afternoon i called this kid named Easton over and said "wanna know a secret?" to which he promptly replied "yes!" so i said "your name backwards is not sae." and then as i heard myself say it outloud i started laughing hysterically and realized i should think before i speak.
they were all asking when i was going to come back, which i know they were doing just because i was someone new and wasn't in any way a reflection on my general awesome-ness, but i kind-of hope that i come back soon. stupid ymca, you're sucking me in again...
