5 USUAL THINGS
1) First off I am stuck at home on a beautiful Saturday afternoon because my car is in the shop for new breaks and well, it's February and it is 70 degrees outside. What is that in Celcius? I guess, 23degrees? How I wish I wasn't so far away from everything so I can just walk. It would be so nice to have a subway system in Vegas but Vegas is too small for that. I don't think it will even work because Vegas is too much of a communal city. Although I guess this is the time to watch a couple of movies but then I'll just start snacking and snacking is not good. I've been doing that for the past two months. Watching the Olympics is quite funny. Poor Vancouver and its lack of snow. It's kind of sad when you watch it and you see photographers wearing t-shirts.
2) When I entered the restroom the other day at work, I was met with a woman who was dressed very masculine and had short floppy blond hair. It took me a couple of seconds to wonder if I entered the wrong restroom and it scared me a bit because gah, what if I really was in the mens restroom? Then I saw the all too familiar small little vending thingy for sanitary napkins and such and I realized I was in the right place. But seriously, that scared me. Not that there's anything wrong with the lady who dressed like a man, in fact, come to think about it, why is it ok for ladies to wear menswear at work but guys can't wear womenswear? Isn't that a double standard? I don't know. I just got nervous because it made me remember that awful memory of when I really did go to the mens restroom accidentally when I was like 8 or so and this guy was like, "You must wait for your dad outside, my dear."
3) My phone bill is $798!! God help me, how was I to know, I was going to get charged roaming fees for internet usage when I was on vacation. That is more than my car payment and my cc bills combined. I am hitting myself upside the head. This is why I hate cell phones.
4) I'm finally writing again. Three things at once. Is that a good thing? It a bit hard with all the distractions though. I did have a chance to write my second
Merlin story. I dunno. I'm still getting used to writing in British teminology but I think there's still some Americanisms in there espcially with the different spellings/terms. Traveling = Travelling. Color = colour. Pants = trousers. Yell = shout. Mr. or Mrs. = Mr or Mrs -without the period. But I guess the good thing about writing different things with completely different subject matters is that it gives me some great story ideas for my "27" story which is taking me forever to write. 200 some pages and I think I have 200 to go. Yes. It must be done.
And also... aren't these
guys just lovely? They are hardly what you call well known actors but I think I have a crushes on them all.
5) I love Jungle Ride's video for Glory of Love. It's always been a favorite song of mine so I was so happy she took my prompt. The clips go so well with the song. The Karate Kid trilogy is awesome, especially the 2nd one. I remembered a few years ago, I was talking to my exbf about how I loved part 2 because it was the first time I ever saw a female lead character who looked like me in a way and loved and remembered the movie partly because Kumiko was sweet and friendly and pretty. Usually young girls always go for the character they relate to while young boys always go for the ones they see as the "hero" type and both Kumino and Daniel were that prototype. Which is actually the same for the characters for Arthur and Gwen isn't it? And as for Mr Miyagi? Well, he's just a legend no matter what.
