Low Car Diet Days 21 & 22

Miles by bike yesterday: 11.8

Miles by bike today: 4.6

Last night I begged pinktiger to drive us downtown to see Rufus Wainwright, but she refused, so we rode bikes. The ride home at 1 AM knowing that I had to work at eight this morning was kind of rough--even if it's only ten minutes faster to drive, that's ten minutes I could be sleeping!--but we took the Hawthorne bridge there and the Burnside bridge back, which seems to maximize downhills and minimize uphills. Not too bad.

Today started out badly too--although I managed to get up on time, just as I was about to leave for work, I went to get my lunch from the fridge and realized that it wasn't cold. I had to call in late to work after all in order to find a repair person and get perishable things in a cooler with ice. I may die of food poisioning over the next few days, so stay tuned.

To make myself feel better, I zipped to the taco truck on my lunch break (ten minutes in transit, five minutes ordering, fifteen minutes to shovel it in). They have a great veggie burrito with soy chorizo and avocado. I could happily eat it several times a week. It's the veggie-friendliest authentic taco stand I have ever experienced!

So that was great. And my fridge is fixed. I liked AAA Appliance, in case anyone else's fridge stops working tomorrow morning. However, I hope that none of my appliances will ever malfunction again.
