There was no need to drive today because I spent ten straight hours at home reading Harry Potter. And finished it!
Around two o'clock, the phrases "Storm's a brewin'..." and "It was a dark and stormy night" began to describe Portland. Eerie wind; threatening, thick blanket of low gray clouds; spattering, strange rain; and heavy, oppressively moist air. This made me feel like Bastian from the Neverending Story as I locked myself in a mostly empty house and read, barely stopping to eat, as if the characters in the book were counting on me.
I briefly left the house, traveling exactly one mile by bicycle, and then went straight back home to read some more.
