So um. I snowboard now :)
Went for my second time today. Caught on finally how to switch from heal to toe and do the S curve.
It's so much fun. I missed skiing, so I'm glad I got into this. I was given the board by a friend, and so I just had to buy boots (got 'em used only couple times for $50) and bindings (which I got good new ones for only 30 bucks).
My friend Dom who gave me his old board is teaching my friend, Joanne, and I.
There's a cheap city ski/snowboard place in Toronto. Since it's owned by the city, for two hours I can pay 11 to 16 dollars ('cause I can pass as under 19 LOL) and a little more for a whole day. So it's a decent price. There is Lakeridge which is better, but pricier. I'm sure we'll get there soon.
In the meantime I don't my practicing on crappier hills.
I love winter. We also skated on the lake.
And I saw both a wild cyote and fox by my house.
I hate Toronto - the traffic and city - but I am enjoying myself here. :)
Want. to. visit. Ottawa. though.
