Back when I was at the pinnacle of my time in the Xfiles Fandom, I'd come to the realization that I had to avoid reading any interviews or quotes given by David Duchovny about the direction of the show. I was/am a MSR shipper and he just didn't seem to get that they'd evolved his character so that Scully was his one and only and would continually say things that were flippant or down right disrespectful to that relationship.
I've been a CSI GSR shipper since I started watching that show, led by THEIR creation of a love interest and THEIR feeding of that arc within the series. A while back I'd suspected that I might be in the same situation, that Petersen could really care less about the arc they've given his character. The newest article in TV Guide pretty much confirms that I should have had the same rule with respect to NOT reading any interviews done with him. I appreciate that Petersen is oversexed and a bit of a dog in real life, what annoys me is that he always talks about wanting to infuse those characteristics into Grissom, when clearly Grissom ISN'T that and it wouldn't suit the arc they've given his character.
I'm giving up on series. LOL
