The color of an eye, the glory of a sudden view

What one person considers irresponsibility, another person considers spiritual freedom. Example: Having time to take a walk to simply observe how bleeding brilliant it is to be alive -- to notice gravel, and grass, and dirt, and sky -- as if it is the most alien concept in the world.

Buddhist wisdom I've read in a couple places talks about how walking on water is considered one of the miracles of Jesus, but isn't it even more miraculous to walk on ground? Walking is taken for granted, but having the ability to walk or to breathe are real miracles. Of all the things we could've been born as, we were born as a creature that can recognize the beauty of living.

But it's taken for granted, and when you take time out to actually notice how incredible it really is, you're accused of having too much time on your hands.

I'd rather not be so busy that I can't sit in awe of life. It's too wonderful an act to not be amazed by it.
