Rob Schrab is
finally finishing Scud the Disposable Assassin.
He wrote the thing for 20 issues, and it looked fairly certain that the series would end on issue #21. But issue #21 never came. That was 1998. Ten years later, I'm finally going to find out how the story ends. Best of all, the last "issue" will be over 100 pages long. So it'll actually be four issues.
I loved Scud. I paid attention to Schrab's fantasy casting of all the voices for all the characters that he put into the front of each issue, and had those voices in my head for each character. I made a Scud background for my work computer at my first real job, not caring that none of my coworkers had any idea who Scud was and edge quietly away from me whenever I tried to explain it. And I cackled like a madman at each new issue.
The world needs more happy insanity like Scud. And I guess, now, they're going to get some.
