Ramblings about slash and Mary Sues
I probably need to quit reading Fandom Secrets.
I took a Mary Sue quiz for Ganesh. It said that Ganesh is probably not a Mary Sue.
But Charles definitely is.
I am not quite sure what to do with this information....
I'm also reading fanficrants which is probably ANOTHER bad idea. General impression: everybody hates fanfic. Especially the people who read it.
And I had a question. A serious question: why is "slash" a warning? I perfectly understand warnings. Some people can handle violence, but, say, not incest, so, OK. But isn't slash saying, "there are gay people here?" And isn't that like saying, "These characters breathe air?" I'm sorry, but "OMG teh gay," just seems like a warning for idiots. I can see warning about sex scenes, as some folks read when they're in public places. But, I dunno, especially as I'm not keeping my Mythklok stuff at my own damned blog, I might just take off all the slash warnings.
