One thing that I think is absolutely baffling is the fact that despite the positive things that happen in life, the negative has overwhelming power if it is given the chance. In our inmost beings, we want to be loved, accepted, happy, content. Yet everytime something prevents one of these from being evident in our lives, we become discouraged. Much of what we go through is psychological. It's almost a game that we play. Whenever we possess a dream or great idea, we immediately think of the reasons why we cannot accomplish them. Even when we do become excited, and believe in ourselves or our idea, we are met with a criticism from others. If there is a way to bypass these negative thoughts, and look ahead to the finished goal, then it will be easier to get there.
When drawing a straight line on a pad of paper, you draw two dots with a pencil, and place the pencil on one dot. Then to make the straightest line possible, you focus on the other dot, and move your pencil towards it. Without doing this you will focus on the current place of the pencil on its journey, and possibly swerve from the best line.
Looking ahead towards the future goal makes it easier to work through the steps you must take to get there, because it will give you a big picture to work on, and you are less likely to get bogged down on all the details.
