And Christmas is over.

I have a new pot and pan; I have a box of chocolates from L. A. Burdick; and I have a new digital camera!...I miss vin chaud. And soon I'll miss galettes des rois. With cidre fermier. Brut. ...The windows at Printemps, and Galleries Lafayette. ...The smell of the metro. ...That warm Christmas day whereupon I sat outdoors in a café.
I'm back in Amherst, at work. My body is still recovering from the holidays. And yesterday I had half of a round of brie, went to see Tom's band play, had four beers, and then had eggs-toast-homefries at a diner at two a.m.
Amherst is suffocating.
But Worcester was surprisingly full, living, breathing, tangible. Especially greasy diner food and having the Smiths and Gish-era Smashing Pumpkins and Sonic Youth and Patti Smith on the jukebox.Quand tu sauras mon crime, et le sort qui m'accable,
Je n'en mourrai pas moins, j'en mourrai plus coupable
