Well, I was late for my date. That seemed to have been ok though.
For those not following my appointment book, I and dancingwolfgrrl looked at our overly busy calendars about a month ago and decided to commit to not doing anything at 7:30 this evening. But, rather, agreed dedicate some time to nurturing Spirit through quietude and meditation.
I began by stopping work on an Important Project to retreat to the front porch. Beautiful night, peepers peeping, breeze breezing, sister returning call to give technical assistance with Important Project. ...
Ok, half an hour later I retreated to the front porch. This time with more layers and less shivering. (Especially important because I tend to get cold in meditation). Luving the fact that it's Crisp outside ... and Dark! My owl-ish, vampire-ish, bat-ish self is oh so happy about the advent of autumn.
Because of the still noticable car-factor I brought my itouch. I started off with some classical Hush from Bobby McFerrin & YoYo Ma then segued to Sufi meditation podcasts from A Winter Feast for the Soul.
Sidenote: If you haven't found Winter Feast yet, I commend it to your attention. They have a 40 day meditation program going worldwide starting on January 15th (when we all need Spirit boosts!) and there are numerous daily guided meditations available via web. I've been playing them all year.
The chakra color focussed breathing meditation had me quivering in bliss as I brought the night breeze down and up my core and around me.
Totally worth it.
So, who has a suggestion for the next date for NOT getting together!? ;-)
