RIP Adwaitya

Yesterday's NY Times Features an article on the death of a personal friend of mine, Adwaitya.  I was lucky enough to meet him just a couple of weeks before his passing.  Please take the time to read the article.  It would mean a lot to me.

Yesterday was horrific and wonderful.  Hours spent at service, trying to make the kids repeat their own names.  Hours spent in Salt Lake (think: Scarsdale of Kolkata) comforting a new but dear friend before she suddenly left to go home to New Zealand.  Hours spent trying on saris and salwar kameez tops after the tailor dropped them off.  Hours spent singing along loudly to Mark's playlist of songs that must be sung along to loudly.  Hours spent having dinner with Barbara from the NY IPSL office who is here "checking facilities" and watching Uncle talk loudly and giggle nervously.  Hours spent thinking about how time has no bearing on how close one feels to a person or environment.  Altogether, incredibly draining.

I am off to a closing ceremony for our program at Loreto College.  Greta will make a speech, some of the Loreto girls will dance and last night I had a dream that all of us Americans stood on a stage and sang "Leaving on a Jet Plane".  Soon I will see if I should scratch my college education and become a full time prophet.
